Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Dealz (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Dealz mobile app and related services. Dealz is a marketplace that helps buyers and sellers connect; we process data to run that service securely and fairly.
1. What we collect
- Account & profile: email address, display name, optional profile details you add, and authentication data from our sign-in providers (for example Google or email/password).
- Listings & media: text, photos, prices, categories, listing type (including auctions where you use them), and status you publish; moderation-related fields where applicable.
- Messaging: chat content between users in connection with listings or offers.
- Commerce & payments: when you pay in the app (Seller Pro, boosts, auction fees, or item purchases through Dealz checkout), our payment partners (such as Stripe or PayPal) process card or wallet details. We receive metadata needed to operate the service — for example payment and order status, payout readiness, amounts, currency, provider references, and whether funds are settled or temporarily held for seller onboarding. We do not store your full card number on Dealz servers.
- Orders & shipping-related fields: for physical sales we store the delivery method you select (for example shipping vs pickup), shipping address fields you enter for delivery, optional carrier / tracking text and links, optional proof-of-shipment images you upload, an in-app delivery confirmation code used between buyer and seller where enabled, and timestamps related to order progress and completion (including automatic completion after a period where configured).
- Seller payouts: if you sell through integrated checkout, we process information needed to link your account to Stripe Connect, PayPal, or similar (including verification and tax-related data collected by those providers under their terms).
- Location (if you allow it): may be used for discovery, delivery-related fields you enter, or safety features as described in the app.
- Device & technical: push notification tokens if you enable notifications, diagnostics for fraud prevention and reliability, and standard app/platform logs.
- Support: information you send when you contact us.
2. How we use data
- Provide marketplace features: accounts, discovery, listings, cart, checkout, orders, chat, auctions, and seller hub / wallet views.
- Operate Dealz-mediated checkout: create payment sessions, record orders, apply disclosed platform fees, and route or hold settlement in line with seller payout status and provider rules.
- Show pickup vs ship flows, delivery-related fields on orders, and dispute flags so buyers and sellers can coordinate fulfilment.
- Process optional paid platform features (Seller Pro, boosts, featured placement, auction listing/reserve fees, listing highlights) as shown at checkout.
- Send service emails or push messages about your account, orders, payouts, or security.
- Enforce our Terms of Service, reduce abuse, and comply with law.
- Improve stability and security (for example crash-related signals where collected).
3. How we share data
We share information only as needed to run Dealz:
- Service providers: cloud hosting, database, authentication, analytics tied to app operation, email delivery, and payment processing — under contracts that require protection of your data.
- Other users: profile and listing information you choose to make visible on the marketplace, and chat messages you send in conversations.
- Legal & safety: when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the platform.
We do not sell personal information to data brokers.
4. Retention
We keep data as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and secure our systems. Payment, order, and payout-related records may be kept longer where tax law, accounting rules, or Stripe/PayPal requirements apply. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize personal profile and listing data per our deletion flow; see Account deletion.
5. Your choices
- Update profile and listing information in the app.
- Control notification preferences in device and app settings where available.
- Request account deletion in-app or via support.dealz@dealzmarketplace.com.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or object to certain processing — contact us and we will respond in line with applicable law.
6. Children
Dealz is not intended for children under the age required in your country to enter into marketplace transactions without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from young children.
7. International use
Our infrastructure and partners may process data in countries other than your own. We use safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data and the service.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of Dealz after updates means you accept the revised policy where permitted by law.
